Our Origin Story
In March 2018 a group of eight friends who were absolutely compelled by the beauty of the forest decided to get together to go hiking along the Cascade Falls Trail of Patapsco State Park. They came together seeking connection, fun and oneness with nature. The inclusion of the element of sound into the spaces was the recipe to not just physically hold a presence outdoors but to spiritually unite through a grounding sound meditation to all the elements, plants, and animals that surrounded.
Since this day, WOCO has made groundbreaking strides and has become leaders in the outdoor community, generating spaces in nature for black and brown indigenous peoples to experience the wonders of nature through guided hikes and sound meditation healing circles in nature.

WOCO's Guiding Principles
One With Self One With Nature
As we experience the beauty of nature we also venture into the most authentic parts of ourselves to experience alignment and internal bliss.
Sound As Medicine
Sound is a non-invasive medicine that has the power to reset and attune our electromagnetic frequency to that of harmony and balance. Healing frequencies works on a cellular level to balance and restore vibrational harmony in the body.
Hike Together Heal Together
Healing is a communal, holistic process, weaving together individual care with collective transformation as we move in outdoor spaces.
Nature As A Sacred Teacher
Time in nature unfolds the silence lessons that grow in the heart. It whispers a language only our own hearts can interpret. We are able to learn through feeling and presence what the natural world wants us to know. This is unique to each person.

Meet the WOCO Team
Healing Meets Environmental Stewardship
The Wonderful World of WOCO is composed of an array of beautiful people from a multitude of different backgrounds grounded in the same cause: to find rest and rejuvenation in outdoor spaces. This may look like the opportunity to sit still next to a tree and feel the breeze or tell stories and experience full belly laughs while walking a trail. Even the joy in the observation of the tiniest frogs expands the sensations of interconnectedness to the nature surrounding. The loving care that we intrinsically emit as we travel down the paths between the trees is testament to our innate belongingness to every plant and creature.
Over the years our journey has unfolded into active stewardism as we have planted trees, explored wetlands, delve into the knowledge about native birds, pollinators and butterflies and how they maintain our food supplies, tap into even the scientific field work of extracting eDNA to understand the Bay’s organism.
Our work continues to reach well beyond the land and the sea. It extends into the hearts and minds of our communities as we continue to embark on our own collective journey towards betterment and self-awareness. As we heal ourselves, we heal the land.
