Middle Branch Birding & Nature Tours: MedStar Harbor Wetlands

Introduction

Join WOCO Hike & Sound Healing and Kojo Baidoo (@kojobirder), in collaboration with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership, for our next experience in the South Baltimore Urban Shoreline Tour Series on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 9:30 AM–11:30 AM at the MedStar Harbor Hospital wetlands.

Together, we’ll explore this unique waterfront landscape through birding, environmental education, community science, and mindful nature observation. This tour will bring us closer to the wetlands as we explore how these important ecosystems support South Baltimore by filtering water, providing wildlife habitat, absorbing stormwater, protecting shorelines, and strengthening climate resilience.

Birds will once again help guide our understanding of restoration. With Kojo the Birder, we’ll observe the wetland and shoreline for resident and migratory birds while learning how water, vegetation, food sources, and healthy habitat influence where birds gather, feed, rest, and travel.
