These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website, programs, events, services, and communications provided by Women of Color Outdoors LLC, operating as WOCO Hike & Sound Healing (“WOCO,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By accessing this website or participating in any WOCO offerings, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or participate in WOCO activities.
1. About WOCO and Scope of Services
WOCO provides nature-based programming that may include, but is not limited to:

Guided hikes and outdoor excursions

Ecotours and environmental education experiences

Sound healing, mindfulness, and somatic wellness practices

Community gatherings, workshops, and virtual programming
These Terms apply to all users of this website and all participants in WOCO services, whether online or in person.
2. Eligibility and Participation
Participation in WOCO activities requires that you:

Are at least 18 years of age, or have parental/guardian consent if under 18

Are physically and mentally able to participate safely

Agree to follow all instructions, safety guidelines, and codes of conduct
WOCO reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation at its discretion for safety, conduct, or compliance reasons.
3. Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that participation in outdoor and wellness-based activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Physical exertion

Uneven terrain and natural hazards

Weather conditions
-
Emotional or psychological responses to mindfulness or sound-based practices
By participating, you voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with these activities.

4. Release of Liability and Hold Harmless
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Women of Color Outdoors LLC, its owners, contractors, facilitators, partners, and volunteers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or related to your participation in WOCO services.
Certain programs or events may require you to sign a separate Liability Waiver and Release Form. These Terms do not replace such waivers and are intended to operate in conjunction with them.
5. Health and Medical Disclaimer
WOCO services are not medical, psychological, or therapeutic treatment. Participation in sound healing, mindfulness, or somatic practices is voluntary and offered for educational and experiential purposes only.
You acknowledge that:

You are responsible for consulting a licensed healthcare provider regarding any medical or mental health concerns

You participate at your own discretion and responsibility
6. Community Conduct and Safety
WOCO is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. All participants are expected to:

Act respectfully toward others

Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior

Follow facilitator instructions and safety protocols
WOCO reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with community values, without refund.
7. Accessibility and Accommodations
WOCO strives to make programming accessible when possible. Outdoor environments may present limitations. Participants are encouraged to communicate accessibility needs in advance so reasonable accommodations can be explored, though accommodations cannot be guaranteed in all settings.
8. Environmental Responsibility
Participants agree to:

Follow Leave No Trace principles

Respect wildlife, ecosystems, and public lands

Comply with applicable park or land-use rules
Failure to do so may result in removal from activities.
9. Photography, Video, and Media Use
WOCO may photograph or record events for educational, promotional, or documentation purposes. By participating, you grant permission for your likeness to be used in WOCO materials unless you notify WOCO in writing prior to the event.
10. Communications and Messaging
By submitting forms or registering for events, you consent to receive communications from WOCO related to programs, updates, and community offerings. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time. WOCO does not sell or misuse participant contact information.
11. Intellectual Property
All website content, program materials, branding, text, graphics, and media are the intellectual property of WOCO unless otherwise stated. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.
12. Cancellations, Refunds, and Changes
Event policies may vary. WOCO reserves the right to cancel or modify programs due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances. Refunds, credits, or rescheduling options will be communicated as applicable.
13. Modifications to Terms
WOCO may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the website or participation in services constitutes acceptance of any revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
